In October 2025, A Blast of Lyricism: Contemporary Taiwanese Art in London marks a milestone collaboration between Tina Keng Gallery and Professor Chia-Ling Yang of the University of Edinburgh, supported by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture and the Taiwan Content Plan. Presented at Frieze No. 9 Cork Street, the exhibition brings together generations of Taiwanese artists to explore an evolving aesthetic bridging local tradition and global dialogue.
Complementing the show, Deerland Tea hosts an opening reception with leading Taiwanese tea and lifestyle brands — JiouFen Teahouse 九份茶坊, MANO MANO, Fortune Tea Garden 福茶苑, Chuang’s Black Tea 莊記茶業, COFE, and Fu Wan Chocolate— turning hospitality into a cultural expression that intertwines art, ritual, and everyday life.

In the 1980s, JiouFen fell into quietude after the mines closed. Drawn by its tranquil beauty, artist Hung Chih-Sheng restored the century-old residence of local legend Weng Shan-Ying and, in 1991, opened JiouFen’s first heritage teahouse — JiouFen Teahouse — to rekindle the town’s spirit. Over time, he established the Ceramic Studio, Artist Teahouse, and JiouFen Art Gallery, weaving together tea, pottery, and art to preserve JiouFen’s cultural legacy for generations to come.
For this opening reception, JiouFen Teahouse presents a specially designed tea cup inspired by the traditional Taiwanese tea-nosing cup 聞香杯. The new design retains the nosing cup’s fragrance-enhancing elegance while allowing for a fuller serving of tea.
八零年代,礦業停採後的九份一片寂靜。藝術家洪志勝被這座山城的靜謐美景深深吸引,進而著手修復當地傳奇人物翁山英的百年老宅。1991年,他於老宅內創辦了九份第一家具有文史風貌的茶館——「九份茶坊」,為蕭條多年的山城注入新的生命。其後,又陸續成立陶藝工作室與九份美術館,將茶、陶與藝術相融合,讓九份的文化精神得以在時代的流轉中延續、傳承。
本次開幕酒會上,九份茶坊特別燒製了一款以台灣傳統聞香杯為靈感的茶杯。新設計保留了聞香杯的優雅韻味,更大的容量則能體現茶的飽滿。

Renowned for infusing local Taiwanese ingredients into innovative flavors, MANO MANO presents a special series of macarons for the opening reception of A Blast of Lyricism. Inspired by the exhibition’s graphic color palette, the collection features four distinct flavors made with Taiwanese cocoa, whisky, coffee, High Mountain Oolong tea, and Sweet Osmanthus blossom.

Fortune Tea Garden inherits over three generations and more than fifty years of WenShan Paochung Tea craftsmanship. Beyond refining tea-making techniques, the brand is devoted to exploring new possibilities for tea while documenting the natural and cultural stories of its homeland. With each cup of naturally floral PaoChung Tea, Fortune Tea Garden hopes to bridge the past, present, and future, revealing the distinctive terroir of PingLin — a gentle sweetness that lingers long after each sip.
"Nong Gin 醲琴酒 – PaoChung Tea" is a collaboration between Nong Distillery 醲蒸餾所 and Fortune Tea Garden. Centered on the delicate and refreshing aroma of PaoChung Tea, it is harmonized with the grounding fragrance of chrysanthemum, crafted through a combination of distillation and infusion techniques. Preserving the tea’s color and aroma, the gin is refined and bottled at 43% ABV. Its champagne-golden hue reflects the bright and lively character of PaoChung Tea. "Nong Gin 醲琴酒 – PaoChung Tea" is one of the few alcoholic creations at the opening reception, adding a touch of lush intensity to the tea-themed desserts.
福茶苑承襲家族三代、逾五十年的文山包種茶技藝,不僅專注於製茶的延伸與創新,也致力於挖掘與記錄地方的自然風貌與人文故事。期盼以一杯散發天然花香的包種茶,串聯過去、現在與未來,傳遞坪林獨有的風土魅力,讓綿長茶韻在每一位飲者的心口,悠然回甘。
「醲琴酒 - 包種茶」由醲蒸餾所與福茶苑共同打造,採混合蒸餾與浸泡等多重工法精製,以臺灣包種茶清甜的茶香為主調,揉合小油菊的沉穩氣味,再經調、過濾後以 43% 酒精濃度裝瓶。酒體呈香檳金色澤,映照出包種茶的鮮明和活潑調性。「醲琴酒 - 包種茶」是本次開幕酒會少數的含酒之作,為以茶為題的甜點帶來一抹濃豔。
