Music exists only in time. A note vanishes the moment it is heard, yet lingers within memory long after the sound has faded.

Pianist Wu Kuan-Han's performance becomes an invitation to discover how sound can awaken emotional resonances that transcend chronology. As ancient compositions are performed on a replica fortepiano, we attempt to reimagine sounds that have travelled through generations, allowing them to evoke feelings in the present.

Tea accompanies the concert as a parallel score: a sensory archive carrying traces of tea plants, craftsmanship, and distant places. Through two media, water and whisky, these memories are extracted and displayed in different profiles, much as a single moment may be remembered in different ways.

Together, music and tea become twin languages of remembrance, each striving to preserve what cannot be held and to reveal fragments transformed by the very act of remembering.

音樂只存在於時間之中。音符在響起的瞬間消逝，卻可以在消散之後，在記憶裡駐足成篇。

鋼琴家吳冠漢的演奏會邀請我們去探索聲音如何喚醒超越時間的共鳴。當古老的樂曲在仿古鋼琴上奏響，我們試著重新構想那些代代相傳的聲音，讓它們在當下喚起情感。

茶將如同平行樂譜般伴隨著這場音樂會：它是一份感官檔案，承載著茶樹的生長痕跡、曾投注的精湛的工藝、以及遙遠茶作之地的印記。透過水和威士忌這兩種萃取媒介，這些記憶被提取，以不同的面貌呈現，正如同一個瞬間可以被以不同的方式銘記。

音樂與茶，成為記憶的雙生語言，它們各自努力保存那些無法被留住的事物，並揭示那些在記憶行為本身中被轉化而來的碎片。

We are delighted to welcome Wu Kuan-Han, a Vienna-based Taiwanese pianist, for a special salon performance in Berlin.

Performing on a replica of a fortepiano from the renowned Stein Workshop (Werkstatt Stein) around 1800, Kuan-Han brings the music of J.C. Bach and the Classical era to life through the authentic sound world of a historical instrument.

In collaboration with Deerland Tea, a collective of Taiwanese tea artisans and specialists, this evening invites audiences to experience a dialogue between historical keyboard music and contemporary Taiwanese tea culture.
